After updating the NMC server software, older Java Web Start cache entries on the NMC client may conflict with the updated application. Clearing the Java cache forces the client to download the updated application components from the server, resolving the “Unable to Launch the application” error.

CloudBoost provides optimized deduplication, compression, and encryption, enabling efficient and secure backups from legacy platforms like AIX directly to cloud storage.

When you run the NetWorker Installation Manager on an NVE appliance, after the software package is initialized the Installation Setup page appears – this is where you check (or uncheck) the Storage Node only option to configure NVE as a dedicated storage node.

For successful installation and operation of NetWorker on a Linux system, the presence oflibncursesw(wide-character support for terminal UI) andglibc(the GNU C library) is essential. These libraries are foundational for the functioning of NetWorker’s command-line and daemon processes.

Thensrlcpddaemon is responsible for controlling library resources, including management access ports (MAPs) and other robotic control features used in tape libraries. It facilitates communication between NetWorker and physical media libraries.

CloudBoost performs inline deduplication, compression and AES‑256 encryption on the client side (or in‑appliance) so that only minimal, secure data is sent to the cloud object store.

All backup copies - both short‑term and long‑term - are written to inexpensive, deduplicated cloud object storage (e.g. AWS S3, Azure Blob, ECS), driving down retention costs.

You can deploy CloudBoost as a virtual appliance directly in public clouds (AWS, Azure, VMware), so no dedicated on‑prem hardware is needed to replicate backups into cloud services.
